Two workers die from electrocution at burger stall in Ipoh


IPOH: Two workers at a stall selling burgers were found dead, believed to have been electrocuted, in Taman Bercham Raya near here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the Tambun police station received a call from the public on the deaths at 1.15am on Sunday (Oct 15).

The victims, aged 14 and 30, were friends.

“Both of them were found unconscious by the side of the stall, and their deaths were confirmed by medical officers from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

“Initial investigation found that both of them, who were hired as helpers at the stall, were believed to have been electrocuted while working at the stall,” he said in a statement today.

ACP Yahaya said the case has been classified as sudden death.

The bodies have been sent to the hospital for a postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
