Parliament Caucus head urges 'aggressive diplomacy' against Israeli violence in Gaza

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia must continue with its aggressive diplomacy against the ongoing violence of the Israeli regime against Palestine, says Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.

The head of the Malaysian Parliament Caucus for Palestine said Israel's crime of apartheid against Palestinians should also be condemned.

“The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Ibrahim Anwar) has stated Malaysia’s stand that what happened in Palestine is politics of dispossession where people are deprived of their rights and land.

“We want their land and rights to be returned to Palestinians,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby on Monday (Oct 16).

The Pakatan Harapan lawmaker also urged relevant countries to withdraw their normalisation ties with Israel and to ensure that the RM100mil aid to Palestine from Malaysia is properly channelled to those who need it.

Earlier, Anwar said in a special explanation on the Palestine crisis in the Dewan Rakyat that he would raise the matter during his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday (Oct 19) for the Asean and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.

Anwar said he will discuss the issue with his peers from UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Turkey if there is a need to meet other world leaders on the Palestine-Israel conflict.
