Food delivery rider killed in three-vehicle pile-up in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: A 29-year-old food delivery rider was killed in a three-vehicle accident near a traffic light at Kampung Lombong-Persiaran Anggerik Mokara here on Monday (Oct 16).

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the accident occurred at about 10.42am on Monday.

"A lorry rammed into the male victim, who was riding a motorcycle and a cyclist.

"The impact of the collision threw the rider underneath the lorry while the cyclist fell at the side of the road.

"The delivery rider died at the scene while the cyclist sustained light injuries," he said.

"The victim's body has been sent to Hospital Shah Alam for post-mortem.

"We are investigating further under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.
