Form Four girl allegedly raped by Muay Thai coach in Melaka

MELAKA: A Form Four student was allegedly raped several times by a 50-year-old Muay Thai coach on the pretext of freeing her from black magic spell.

Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said the suspect, who is from Tumpat, Kelantan, told the 16-year-old victim she had been suffering because someone had cast a spell on her.

"The suspect met the victim's aunt at a stall in Batu Berendam in early August and told her that her niece was going through a personal crisis because of the spell," he said on Tuesday (Oct 17).

DCP Zainol said on Aug 25, the suspect visited the victim's family at their house in Kg Sungai Putat, Batu Berendam where he claimed he was also a traditional healer and offered his services to break the spell.

He said the suspect then told the victim's 48-year-old mother to take her daughter to a bush close to a hypermarket in Krubong here for a ritual.

DCP Zainol said the suspect instructed the mother to buy food for them and was left alone with the girl.

"He then raped the victim and threatened her not to tell her family members what happened," he said.

DCP Zainol said the suspect allegedly raped the victim several more times when he went to her house supposedly to provide further "treatment".

His last visit was in early October this year before the victim lodged a police report on Monday (Oct 16).

"From preliminary investigations, the victim was raped on four occasions since August," he said.

DCP Zainol said the victim is the youngest of three siblings while the mother works at a supermarket and her 52-year-old dad is a carpenter.

He said the victim has been referred to Melaka Hospital for examination and treatment.

DCP Zainol added that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday (Oct 17) and has been remanded for seven days under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
