Selangor Ruler, Tengku Permaisuri express condolences to family of late Visu Sinnadurai

PETALING JAYA: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin conveyed their condolences to the family of former High Court Judge Tan Sri Dr Visu Sinnadurai who passed away on Sunday (Oct 15) at 79.

The late Visu had been a close acquaintance of the Selangor Ruler since the 1980s and had often emphasised the Rule of Law aspect throughout his life and when serving as a judge, said a statement uploaded on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page.

“Tuanku Sultan described the deceased as very knowledgeable and expert in the field of law.

His Majesty was also often attracted by his openness in providing insightful opinions and views related to the judiciary and current affairs,” said the Royal Office on Tuesday (Oct 15).

In recognition of the late Visu’s service and devotion, His Majesty had bestowed the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor on him in 2005.

The late Visu was also known as an eminent academician and was a former senior legal expert at the World Bank, adjunct professor of comparative law at the Universiti Malaya and one of the main organisers of the Sultan Azlan Shah Lectures series.

This was in addition to his role in having published the book on the Law of Contract.
