Tesla burst into flames in Puchong

PETALING JAYA: A Tesla electric vehicle caught fire in Puchong last night (Oct 16), according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.

Its assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said on Monday (Oct 17) that the car parked by a roadside in Jalan Puchong Jaya had suddenly caught on fire.

He said the department received an emergency call at 8.32pm on Monday. Seven personnel from the Puchong station were deployed to the scene.

“Upon arriving, the Fire Department found that (the incident) involved a Tesla that was 70% burnt and no one was injured.

“The fire was completely extinguished by the Fire Department and (the case has been) handed over to the forensic department for further action.

“It is understood that the owner of the vehicle parked it there to get some food," he said, as reported by Astro Awani.
