IPOH: The family of a teenage girl is pleading with the public to help in locating her whereabouts.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said R. Mannimegalai, 16, was reported to have gone missing on Oct 8 (Sunday) at about 2.30am.
“She stays with her family in Taman Cempaka.
"Her 42-year-old mother, who lodged the report on the same day at noon, said her daughter left home after watching a show on TV at about 2.30am on the same day," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 18).
“Her mother had also started looking around their neighbourhood for her while also trying to contact her several times but to no avail,” he said.
ACP Yahaya said the family believed that the teenager may have followed her boyfriend.
“Her mother said that they had no family problems at home and this was the first time Mannimegalai has gone missing.
“They also didn’t know who her boyfriend is," he said, adding that the family was worried about her well-being.
“She was last seen wearing a soft blue cardigan with a white singlet and a pair of black leggings,” he added.
Those with information on the whereabouts of Mannimegalai may contact investigating officer Insp Anis Safira Roslan at 018-786 5440 or the Ipoh police station at 05-245 1500 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
