Flash floods in KL following afternoon downpour

KUALA LUMPUR: Several parts of Kuala Lumpur were hit with flash floods following an afternoon downpour at 4pm.

An operator manning the Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS) said apart from a few areas in Cheras, Jalan Seri Permaisuri, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, and areas along Jalan Kelang Lama and Jalan Tun Razak experienced flash floods.

“The situation is manageable, and most areas water receded quickly,’’ said the officer.

Meanwhile, DBKL officers have been deployed to the ground to help manage traffic and remove debris stuck in scupper drains.

No incidences have been reported so far.
