Police increase security near US Embassy


KUALA LUMPUR: The police have increased security in the area surrounding the United States Embassy following several demonstrations here.

"These are the offices of foreign representatives in Malaysia. It is the police's responsibility to ensure the security of these offices and we will continue to do so here and in similar places," Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said at a press conference at the police contingent headquarters here on Friday (Oct 20).

He also reminded the people, especially those organising demonstrations, to obey the law.
