2,083 contract medical officers offered permanent posts, says Health Ministry


IPOH: Some 2,083 contract medical officers will be absorbed into permanent positions by December this year, says Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

The Health Minister said part of the placement of contract medical officers was completed at the end of July.

The numbers, she said, were part of the 12,800 permanent posts that would be filled, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Budget 2023.

"With the cooperation of the Public Services Commission, we will try to offer another 2,083 additional contract medical officers as permanent medical officers," she said in a press conference after the Health Ministry Training Institute convocation ceremony in Ulu Kinta, near here on Saturday (Oct 21).

"We expect them to report at our facilities before the end of December," she added.
