Army chief Gen Hafizuddeain receives Maroon Beret, Honorary Airborne Wing


KUALA LUMPUR: Army chief General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan received the Maroon Beret and the Honorary Airborne Wing of the 10th Brigade (Para) at the Dataran Parawood, 8th Royal Malay Regiment, Terendak Camp, Melaka on Saturday (Oct 21).

This places Muhammad Hafizuddeain among the ranks of 69 other recipients of the highest honours for senior military officers after Malaysian Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman on April 17.

In a statement Saturday, the Malaysian Army Headquarters Public Relations Cell said the event began with a dynamic demonstration by the 10th Parachute Brigade involving 40 officers and 1,100 personnel performing free fall parachute jumps, unarmed combat, combat swimming, tactical combat casualty care, a multi-purpose tower demonstration and section attacks.

The audience were also entertained to a freefall parachute jump using a military tactical glider from a height of 5,000 feet using an EC 725 aircraft from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

The event also featured an Unarmed Combat Demonstration by the 361 Battery Royal Parachute Artillery Regiment, which played a defensive role, including blocking and strikes. - Bernama
