Incumbents retain positions in PAS leadership


SHAH ALAM: The PAS party polls saw the existing members retaining their positions in the central leadership committee for the 2023-2025 term.

Among them is Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who received the largest number of votes at 1,098 for the PAS central working committee member position.

Following closely behind is Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari with 1,042 votes and Batu Buruk assemblyman Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi with 1,033 votes.

PAS members also voted for Jabi assemblyman Azman Ibrahim, Kapar MP Halimah Ali, Jerantut MP Khairilnizam Khirudin as well as Kelantan Mentri Besar Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

Other names include Datuk Marzuk Shaary, Datuk Siri Zailah Yusof, Datuk Awang Hashim, Riduan Mohamad Nor, Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim, Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan, Kamaruzaman Mohamad, Najhatussalehah Ahmad, Misbahul Munir Masduki, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad and Dr Rosni Adam.

The party’s top five posts were uncontested, including the president post which was retained by Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man as the deputy president. Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Datuk Idris Ahmad and Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah all maintained their vice-presidents posts.

Right after the general assembly concluded yesterday, Kota Baru MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan was named as the PAS secretary-general, maintaining his current position for the next three years.

Muhammad Sanusi and Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad also retained their positions as the election director and treasurer, respectively.
