PKR division lodges police reports over 'slanderous' social media post on Wan Azizah

KUALA LUMPUR: The Bandar Tun Razak PKR division has lodged three police reports against four social media account holders for allegedly defaming the Prime Minister's wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail by alleging she has a connection to Israel.

The division's Wanita chief Jamilah Syed Mohamed said a photo of Wan Azizah was allegedly edited into a video clip that was uploaded on social media.

"We are lodging the reports so that the authorities can conduct a thorough investigation and take stern action," she told reporters outside the Cheras police headquarters on Monday (Oct 23).

Jamilah said Dr Wan Azizah, the Bandar Tun Razak MP, had gone to the United Nations General Assembly in the United States with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"Wan Azizah had a photo taken with the wives of presidents and prime ministers but it was edited into a video and uploaded on social media.

"The video has since gone viral," she added.

The video was clearly a form of defamation and malice, she said, adding: "Such a video could tarnish her reputation."
