Explosion at farmers' authority HQ electrical room


KUALA LUMPUR: An explosion occurred at the low voltage (LV) room of the Farmers Organisation Authority (LPP) headquarters here on Tuesday (Oct 24).

The incident occurred at 1.58pm, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said.

A statement by its operations room said a team from the Sentul fire station was sent to the location as soon as a distress call was received at 2pm.

"Upon arrival at 2.09pm, firemen were informed that there had been an explosion at the LV room.

"Checks revealed that a fire involving an underground cable caused the explosion," the statement read.

The fire did not result in any injuries or structural damage to the building.

The matter was handed over to the building management for further action, the statement added.
