Almost 40 development projects implemented successfully in Sungai Buloh, says MP


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 37 development projects have been implemented in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency this year through the allocation under the People-Friendly Projects.

Sungai Buloh MP Datuk R. Ramanan (pic) said of the number, six projects are aimed at upgrading public utilities, eight projects for upgrading and building mosques and surau, four projects are for upgrading non-Muslim places of worship, 12 projects for upgrading and building national schools, five for upgrading and building secondary schools and two projects for upgrading and building vernacular schools.

"Thank you to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the allocation for all government MPs. The RM2mil allocation can be used for the development of their respective constituencies.

"The Sungai Buloh Parliamentary constituency has successfully utilised the RM2 million allocated under the monitoring of the Selangor State Development Coordination Unit,” he said when debating Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Oct 24).

Ramanan also said efforts to bridge the existing poverty gap in Malaysia require the commitment of all stakeholders.

"The cooperation of all stakeholders, right up to members of parliament is needed and their involvement in their respective constituencies is needed to end the vicious cycle of poverty,” he said.

Ramanan added that all these cannot happen by the blink of an eye but must go through a time frame with the commitment of every being must contribute towards the community as a reflection of the Malaysia Madani concept.

He then said that the aspect of education is the main key to strengthen a civilisation and achieve the targeted objective. Therefore in the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary constituency, there are continuous efforts to encourage the field of STEM studies (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) among students.

Ramanan added that the initiative will one day bear fruit and the Sungai Buloh constituency can assist the nation in competing with organisations like Tesla. - Bernama
