Rulers condemn attacks

PETALING JAYA: The Conference of Rulers has strongly condemned the violence, oppression and cruelty of the Israeli Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, especially on deaths involving women and children, says the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad.

Syed Danial said the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has been ongoing since Oct 7, was discussed at the pre-meeting session of the 262nd Meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara yesterday.

“The Malay Rulers are sad and concerned over ongoing developments whereby the international community and global superpowers have yet to reach a consensus in arriving at a solution to end that conflict.

“The Malay Rulers urge the Malaysian government to continue speaking out for Palestinians and protest the oppression and cruelty of the Zionist regime at the international stage, for humanitarian and religious responsibilities,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The Malay Rulers, said Syed Danial, were firmly backing Putrajaya’s stance that the Palestinians must be granted absolute freedom from illegal Israeli occupation, the return of their seized land, and the right to form an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as the capital of the country and the Al-Aqsa Mosque to remain as a Muslim place of worship.

“The Malay Rulers also urge Putrajaya to continue taking the initiative and proactive steps at the international stage to find a solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict,” he said.

The Malay Rulers, he added, also called upon all Malaysians to continue being in solidarity with Palestinians and extend any form of humanitarian aid to ease their burden.

“The Malay Rulers called on all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion, to pray together in their respective beliefs for the protection of Palestinians, the immediate end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and to free their land from the evil Israeli Zionist colonisation and oppression.

“The Malay Rulers also called on mosques and surau across the country, as well as Muslims at their homes, to continue sunat hajat and doa selamat prayers to Allah SWT to protect the Palestinians,” said Syed Danial.

According to the official website of the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, the 262nd Meeting of the Conference of Rulers will be held for three days, starting yesterday.

Meanwhile, the 263rd (Special) Meeting of the Conference of Rulers will be held on Friday.

On Oct 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack from Gaza, which saw a barrage of rockets being fired towards Israel and armed individuals breaching security barriers.

In response, Israel retaliated with air strikes and military operations later that night, which have continued until now.

As of yesterday, more than 5,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s attacks, and Gaza’s Health Ministry said that about 40% of these victims were children.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Israel stood at 1,405.

International reports have also stated that tens of thousands of Israeli troops have gathered along Gaza’s borders in preparation for a looming ground invasion.

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians are still trapped within the 360 sq km Gaza, which is touted as one of the most densely populated areas in the world.
