Two die, three injured in JB car crash

JOHOR BARU: Two men died and three victims were injured after the car they were travelling in hit a road divider in the middle of the night.

Kempas Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Wan Nor Affendi Wan Yusof said the incident took place along Jalan Bukit Impian-Senai and was reported at around 3.15am on Tuesday (Oct 31).

“The impact of the crash caused all five victims to be trapped in the car. The 20 firemen who were deployed to the scene used rescue tools to free them,” he said.

“Two of the victims, aged 20 and 23 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer and the bodies had been handed over to the police for further action,” added Wan Nor Affendi in a statement.

Wan Nor Affendi said one of the surviving victims sustained severe injuries while the other two had minor injuries.

All three were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for medical treatment.
