The woman from Beijing, whose surname was Wang, said she had eaten between 200g and 500g of carrots a day since July to stop herself from snacking on junk food.
However, friends were alarmed seeing Wang’s complexion turn a shade of orange.
Fortunately, doctors told Wang that it was just a harmless case of carotenemia and it will fade once she changes her diet.
Carotenemia is a condition where skin takes on an orange hue after consuming high levels of the beta-carotene pigment.
