PETALING JAYA: As children grow up and have families of their own, they can’t help but worry about their ageing parents who prefer to stay put in their own homes.
As Asians, filial piety is still strong within our culture to care for our ageing parents. As such, finding a home closer to them becomes one of the priorities when it comes to house-hunting so that in case of emergencies, they are never too far away.
There is also the added advantage of able-bodied grandparents who can help look after their grandchildren while both husband and wife are at work.
With these sentiments in mind, the upcoming three-day StarProperty Fair is dedicated to offering prospective home buyers the opportunity to explore the projects presented by nine property developers.
These reputable developers are Avaland Bhd, Chin Hin Group Bhd, Grande Peak Properties Development Sdn Bhd, IJM Land Bhd, KL Wellness City (H) Sdn Bhd, Malton Bhd, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), Platinum Victory and Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Held at Hall 3, Level 5 (Pink Zone) Pavilion Bukit Jalil from Nov 3 to 5, the fair will run from 11am to 9pm daily, offering a variety of properties to suit all tastes.
Ranging from mid-range to high-end units, there is something for everyone.
In addition, many of the participating developers will be offering their own promotions during the event.
To entertain children, there will be a clown appearance on both days.
Among the additional activities are the property talks conducted on Nov 4 and 5. The first session on Nov 4 will focus on dispute resolution involving strata-titled properties (2pm to 3pm) by A Chong & Co founder, lawyer Alfred Chong.
This is followed up by feng shui consultant Henry Fong, who will present the session titled Feng Shui Must-Know Before You Purchase Your Dream Home (3pm to 4pm).
Up next will be Creating Your Dream Home: A Guideline for First-Time Home Buyers (4pm to 5pm) by Interspace founder Calvin Kong.
On Nov 5, the session titled The Importance of Having a Will by Rockwills Presidency Award champion Chong Mok Yong will take place from 2pm to 3pm.
This will be followed up by Winning The Real Estate Game: Insiders Tips for Property Buyers (3pm to 4pm), which will be conducted by Wealth Momentum Sdn Bhd managing director Ivan Kok.
Later on, founder of Diligent Planners Vince Chia will present Your Guide To Maximising Mortgage Approval and Rates Successfully (4pm to 5pm).
There will be early bird giveaways to the first 100 visitors, with visitors standing a chance to walk away with portable neck fans and Kyochon vouchers after answering a few simple questions at the StarProperty counter.
On Nov 4 and 5, visitors can gain extra prizes with the Answer & Win contest that offers three draws each day to give away 12 JBL Endurance Race TWS earbuds worth RM469 each. There are also RM100 vouchers for the adjoining Megahome Expo that will also be given to 15 consolation prize winners, with the names to be announced at the StarProperty counter.
There are also free popcorn and ice cream for visitors.
