T'ganu Wanita MCA aims to empower women entrepreneurs with digital knowledge

KUANTAN: In a bid to empower women entrepreneurs, Terengganu Wanita MCA will be hosting an event that features talks and the launch of a research project.

The "Women Entrepreneurship Boost Programme", co-organised by Kemaman MCA Wanita and the National Policy and People's Livelihood Research Committee, will have two segments, one of which is the launch of the "Digital Pathways: Unlocking Potential and Boosting the Success of Malaysia's Women Entrepreneurs" research project.

The research team, to be led by Dr Monna Ong and also comprising Dr Grace Lim, Dr Steven Chong and Dr Fiona Jane Francis, will focus on women in the field of digital entrepreneurship and explore strategies and key factors relevant to the domain.

"The research findings will serve as a valuable guide for women on their digital entrepreneurship journey, enabling them to enhance household income and attain economic independence.

"Terengganu Wanita MCA strives to be the pioneering political organisation in Terengganu that embraces scientific data as the foundation for discourse.

"These research results will be presented to pertinent departments and policy makers to bolster the advancement of initiatives that address societal needs," said the state MCA women's wing in a statement Tuesday (Oct 31).

The second part of the event is the "Digital Era: Women in E-commerce" talks, which will be conducted in Mandarin.

"This segment aims to provide entrepreneurial opportunities for women, particularly in assisting housewives in adapting to the era of electronic network commerce.

"Well-known e-commerce platforms will share insights on shop operations and logistics management on e-commerce platforms.

"Additionally, Kojadi will explain and provide suitable loan plans for women's entrepreneurship.

"Considering the prevalence of fraud incidents, the conference will invite representatives from the police to speak on relevant topics, empowering women with knowledge to prevent telecommunications network fraud and ensure personal and property security," it said.

The event on Nov 3 will be launched by Wanita MCA chief Wong You Fong and is scheduled to run from 3pm to 5pm at the level 2 auditorium of the Kemaman MCA division office.

Admission to the event is free and is open to all individuals interested in the topic.
