Najib has been hospitalised, confirms Dr Zaliha

KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa (pic) has confirmed that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been hospitalised.

“I can only confirm his admission to the hospital. But I cannot disclose the treatment and the condition due to patient confidentiality,” she said at a press conference in Parliament on Thursday (Nov 2).

Najib’s special officer Muhamad Mukhlis Maghribi said Najib has been warded at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) after testing positive for Covid-19.

According to Mukhlis, Najib was sent to HKL on Oct 31 after he complained about feeling feverish.

“After being checked by specialists, Najib was found to have Covid-19,” said Mukhlis briefly when contacted today.

Mukhlis said Najib is currently in a stable condition and being quarantined and treated at HKL.

“Representing Najib’s family, we would like to thank the Kajang Prison and HKL for swiftly giving treatment to Najib,” added Mukhlis.

Najib is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence at the Kajang prison.
