Man dies in accident after wife’s telekung stuck in motorcycle wheel


KUALA PILAH: A 64-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle and crashed after his wife's prayer clothes or telekung got stuck in the rear wheel.

He died from injuries sustained in the freak incident.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Ghani said the couple were heading for prayers at the Juasseh Seberang mosque around 7pm on Thursday (Nov 2).

"The wife was riding pillion when her telekung got entangled in the rear wheel.

"The husband then lost control of the bike and crashed," he said.

Supt Amran said after the accident, the man and his 60-year-old wife were rushed to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital.

He died around 3am the following day, said Supt Amran.

The woman sustained facial injuries and lost several teeth in the incident.

Supt Amran said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
