Mufti leads Perak Sultan’s b’day list


IPOH: Perak Mufti Datuk Wan Zahidi Wan Teh heads the list of 238 recipients of honours and awards in conjunction with the 67th birthday of Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Wan Zahidi and Public Service Department director-general Datuk Dr Zulkapli Mohamed will be conferred the Dato’ Seri Paduka Makhota Perak (SPMP) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri.Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman and Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay are the recipients of the Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.

Perak Finance Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin will receive the Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM) award which carries the title Datuk.

In addition, 13 individuals will be conferred the Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award which carries the title Datuk.

The recipients include Malaysian High Commissioner to India Muzafar Shah Mustafa, state women, family, social welfare, cooperative and entrepreneur committee chairman Salbiah Mohamed, Finance Ministry strategic investment division under secretary Nor Eni Ismail, Perak Public Works Department director Hamdan Ali, state Education Department director Mohamad Fauzi Mahson and Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital director Dr Megat Iskandar Megat Abdul Hamid.

Perak Agriculture Development Corporation chief executive officer (CEO) Yahanis Yahya, Universiti Teknologi Petronas vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Perak Hockey Association president Mohd Saiyuti Abd Samat, NSTP group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, CST Auto Group of Companies CEO P. Chandrasekaran, former Perak State Park director Mohamad Shah Redza Hussein and former Gopeng MP Dr Lee Boon Chye will also be bestowed with the same title.

Five individuals will be the recipients of Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) award, which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan.

They are Defence Ministry geospatial defence director Brig-Jen Sr Dr Zambri Mohamad Rabab, Royal Malaysian Police international relations chief Senior Asst Comm R. Suparamaniam, Armed Forces Veteran Affairs Department Health Corp Brig-Jen (Rtd) Dr Leong Weng Foon, Royal Malaysian Navy Inspector-General Laksamana Muda Mohd Fadzli Kamal Mohd Mohaldin and Second Infantry Brigade commander Brig-Jen Asri Shukor.

Meanwhile, 14 individuals will receive the Paduka Cura Si Manja (PCM) award, 29 are recipients of the Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) award, 21 individuals will be given the Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM) award, 43 individuals will get the Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) award while the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) award will see 60 recipients.

The Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) will be conferred on 33 individuals while 15 people are the recipients of the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP) award. Among the notable PJK recipients are state athletes who won medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022.

They include Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi, who won the bronze medal in the 100m men’s final, Shereen Samson Vallabouy who bagged the bronze medals in the 400m and 4x100m women’s final, and Muhd Shafiq Puteh who won bronze in the men’s 3m springboard synchro event.Orang Kaya Bendahari Seri Maharaja Jen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said a special lunch spread would be prepared for 7,100 prisoners and detainees in four institutions in the state.

“It was Sultan Nazrin’s kindness and concern towards the welfare of the prisoners and detainees that he had expressed his intention to fund the lunch.

“The lunch will be served today at Tapah and Taiping Prisons, Kamunting Correctional Centre and Batu Gajah Rehabilitation Centre,” he told a press conference yesterday.

Mohd Zahidi said the investiture ceremony would be held over two sessions on Sunday and Nov 18 at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar.
