RM4.6mil worth of casino chips stolen

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Over RM4.6mil worth of gambling chips have been stolen from a casino here.

Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said they received a report on the theft on Oct 28.

"Representatives of the Genting Highlands Casino security management lodged a report at around 6.30pm that day.

"They claimed that casino chips amounting to RM4,607,800 were stolen.

"One of the casino rooms where the chips were stored had been broken into by force," he said when contacted on Saturday (Nov 4).

Supt Zaiham declined to elaborate, however, as investigations were ongoing.

"I cannot divulge much as it could jeopardise our investigations but I can say that several suspects have been identified," he said.

He did not rule out the possibility of an inside job.
