Selangor Sultan, Tengku Permaisuri arrive in Kuching for four-day visit


KUCHING: The Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, arrived at Kuching International Airport (LTAK) on Saturday (Nov 4) for a four-day official visit to Sarawak.

The Royal couple, who arrived at 4 pm, were welcomed by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg and his wife Puan Sri Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang, and Deputy Sarawak Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and his wife Datin Amar Enn Ong Siok Ean.

Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Sarawak Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni and Deputy Sarawak Federal Secretary Banges Munga were also present to welcome the Royal couple.

Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, is also scheduled to arrive on Sunday (Nov 5), to join Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

The Royal couple are scheduled to visit the Sarawakiana Exhibition titled "Tradisi Kita Khazanah Kita" at the State Library and Borneo Culture Museum on Sunday.

Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin are also expected to attend the Sarawak Regatta - Kuching Waterfront Festival 2023, before enjoying a night cruise at the Kuching Waterfront.

They will also visit the Sarawak branch of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, Fort Margherita and the Juma'ani Pavilion, before attending a state banquet. - Bernama
