Student beaten up by senior in Kuala Kangsar boarding school


IPOH: A Form Four student is said to have been bullied and beaten by a senior at a boarding school in Kuala Kangsar.

Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said a report was lodged over the incident by a doctor from the hospital at 10.05am on Sept 24.

"The victim is said to have been beaten up by a Form Five student.

"The victim was taken to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for treatment by school authorities.

"A physical check showed that the victim did not suffer any serious injuries," he said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 4).

ACP Omar Bakhtiar added that police came across an Instagram post about the incident on Saturday.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

He said those found guilty could face a one-year jail sentence, or a maximum RM2,000 fine, or both.
