Cops nab at least 10 suspects over theft of casino chips


GENTING HIGHLANDS: At least 10 suspects have been rounded up in connection with the theft of gambling chips worth over RM4.6mil from a casino here.

Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the 10 suspects were arrested following a series of raids following a police report lodged about the theft.

"Investigations are ongoing and we are confident that we will conduct more raids and make more arrests soon," he said when contacted on Sunday (Nov 5).

It was reported that several suspects had been identified over the theft gambling chips with a face value of more than RM4,607,800 at a casino here.

Police did not rule out the possibility of it being an inside job.

Representatives of the Genting Highlands Casino security team lodged a report at around 6.30pm on Oct 28.
