More Rahmah sales in Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan to keep chicken prices reasonable

KOTA KINABALU: More Rahmah Sales programmes will be carried out in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan to ensure reasonable prices of chicken.

Acting Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said the ministry would also ensure that the supply of chicken would be increased but the price to be maintained at a discounted rate of 10% to 30%.

"We are taking this approach as one of the intervention strategies to enable the low and middle-income people to be able to buy chicken at reasonable prices," he told reporters after attending a Rahmah Sales programme at Kampung Kebatu Kabidang in Beaufort, about 100km from here, on Sunday (Nov 5).

He said the programme would be focused in areas where chicken prices were reported to be substantially higher.
