Suspects in casino gambling chips theft identified

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Several suspects have been identified over the theft of more than RM4.6mil worth of gambling chips at a casino room here, police said.

Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said they did not ruled out the possibility of it being an inside job.

He said police received a report on the theft on Oct 28.

“Representatives of the Genting Highlands Casino security management lodged a report at around 6.30pm on Oct 28.

“They claimed that casino chips amounting to RM4,607,800 were stolen.

“One of the casino rooms where the chips were stored had been broken into,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Supt Zaiham declined to elaborate, saying that investigation was ongoing to track down the suspects involved.

“I can’t divulge much as it could jeopardise our investigation but I can say that several suspects have been identified,” he added.
