Man found dead at hospital due to fall


JOHOR BARU: A 22-year-old man was found dead at the Sultan Ismail Hospital here following a fall from a height.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed the tragic incident which took place around 5.20pm on Monday (Nov 6).

He added that the hospital's management immediately contacted the police to report the incident.

“Initial investigation shows that the deceased is a 22-year-old man who has a mental disability card and has been warded at HSI since Saturday (Nov 5).

“The deceased had been scheduled to undergo a knee operation on his right leg on Wednesday (Nov 8). However, the operation was canceled because he had the flu,” ACP Raub said here on Tuesday (Nov 7).

He added the hospital then allowed the victim to be discharged following the cancellation of his operation.

He said police did not find any crime elements at the scene while the case has been classified as sudden death.

ACP Raub urged those that witnessed the incident to contact Johor Baru South police hotline at 07-2182323 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
