Selangor Sultan visits Bishop of Anglican Church in Kuching

PETALING JAYA: The Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei Rt Revd Datuk Danald Jute received several very special visitors at his official home in Kuching on Monday (Nov 6).

Danald and his wife Datin Julita Jack Sungul played host to none other than Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

Also in the royal entourage was one of Yayasan Raja Muda's trustees and Sultan Sharafuddin's close friends, Datuk Richard Curtis.

At hand to receive Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Amir at Danald's home was Rt Revd Datuk Bolly Lapok, Danald's predecessor.

Danald shared about the royal visit on social media and said it was very meaningful to him.

“Greatly humbled to receive HRH The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj and the Raja Muda, Prince Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah,” Danald had said in a social media post.

Danald added the Sultan and Raja Muda had enjoyed traditional cakes which his (Danald's) sister prepared.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Royal office Facebook also highlighted the visit.

It said Sultan Sharafuddin had exchanged views on current affairs with Danald and Bolly and that both the clergymen had wide experience in matters of inter-faith dialogue.

"His Royal Highness was also brought to view some of the main sections of the historical residence of the Sarawak Bishop, which was built in 1849," said the post.
