Action of two MPs is serious breach of party discipline, says Muhyiddin

PETALING JAYA: The decision of the two Bersatu MPs to support the Prime Minister is a serious breach of party discipline, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

"It is contrary to the party's mandate, where they were chosen based on their belief in Perikatan Nasional's struggle," said the Bersatu president.

"Bersatu's supreme council will have an emergency meeting tonight to discuss this latest development," added Muhyiddin in a Facebook post on Thursday (Nov 9).

Muhyiddin said he has information that it was an orchestrated move from a rival party to weaken Bersatu and Perikatan by bribing and threatening its MPs.

"Bersatu will not bow, more severe action will be taken," said Muhyiddin

He urged Bersatu members to remain calm and be steadfast in defending the party's principles while the party's leadership handles the issue.

Both Gua Musang MPs Mohd Azizi Bau Naim and Jeli's Zahari Kechik pledged their support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday and yesterday.

This comes on the heels of show of support for Anwar announced by Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman and Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid.
