Bangladeshi worker held over drunken attack

SUBANG JAYA: An inebriated Bangladeshi was arrested after he attacked a friend with a wooden pole, say the police.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the 34-year-old victim, also a Bangladeshi, was assaulted in the early hours of Wednesday (Nov 8) after an argument with the suspect while they were in a workers' dormitory in Jalan TP7/7 here.

"The attack is believed to have been sparked by the suspect being scolded for making loud noises when drunk.

"The complainant was attacked at the back of the head with a piece of wood," ACP Wan Azlan said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 9).

At around 10.45am that day, the police arrested the 37-year-old suspect and seized the weapon used in the attack, he added.
