Drug addicts found squatting in empty house, one caught, one escaped


AMPANG: A suspected 34-year-old female drug addict was detained for squatting at an empty house in Taman Ukay Perdana here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a 25-year-old female complainant who is a real estate agent, and her colleague had visited the empty house for inspection at 11am on Tuesday (Nov 7).

"They discovered that a man and a woman were already inside the house.

"The man managed to flee, but the woman was caught and handed over to the police from Taman Melawati police station," he said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 9).

The female suspect tested positive for methamphetamine, he said.

"She has three prior criminal records and has since been remanded until Friday (Nov 10)," he said.

The police are still tracking down the male suspect, he added.
