PUTRAJAYA: Graft investigators have arrested an enforcement officer of an agency on suspicion of demanding sex in return for not taking action against a woman over a drug offence.
It is learnt that the suspect, who is based in Johor, was arrested with the woman, in her 20s, at a hotel at about 7.30pm on Thursday (Nov 9).
The woman is believed to have failed to make a monthly report to the said enforcement agency as required of her.
Sources with knowledge of the case said the suspect, in his 40s, demanded sex from the woman as an inducement not to take action against her.
The woman is said to have been arrested for a drug offence and is undergoing a two-year surveillance.
The suspect was brought to a Johor Baru Magistrate's Court where senior court registrar Chang Ing Hien approved a remand order for four days until Monday (Nov 13).
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission director of intelligence Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman confirmed the arrest on Friday (Nov 10).
