Cops to take Kepala Batas MP's statement on Nov 14


KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman will record Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad's statement on Tuesday (Nov 14) in connection with her comments on DAP leaders.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the lawmaker has been summoned by the CID Special Investigation Unit and will have her statement recorded on Tuesday (Nov 14) at federal police headquarters.

"The case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

"Her statement will be recorded at the unit's office in Bukit Aman," he said when contacted on Monday (Nov 13).

As of Monday, six police reports have been lodged against Siti Mastura following her claims that DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng has family ties with Chin Peng, the former Malayan Communist Party leader.

In a now-viral video, she also linked Guan Eng and his wife Betty Chew Gek Cheng to other DAP leaders, namely Anthony Loke, Teresa Kok, Nga Kor Ming and Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham.

She also claimed that DAP stalwart Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang was a cousin of former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

Siti Mastura allegedly made the claims during a political ceramah.
