Always appreciate Malaysia's security forces, says Dr Wee

KUALA LUMPUR: The security forces in our country must always be appreciated, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Nov 15) morning that the services and sacrifices of our security forces in defending our sovereignty and maintaining national security must always be appreciated by all Malaysians.

"Our security forces face many challenges, even facing terrorist groups that are always looking for opportunities to cause damage to our country,” said the MCA president.

Dr Wee said this in a post praising the movie “War on Terror: KL Anarki” having attended the film's gala night with his wife on Tuesday (Nov 14).

"The contents of the film 'War on Terror: KL Anarki' which has been supported by the police is a good film, made with high-quality filming techniques,” said Dr Wee.

"In fact, it has shown and used police assets for scenes where the police fight terrorists who are attacking the city of Kuala Lumpur," he added.

Dr Wee said it was amazing how the actors played their respective characters.

"It was nice to see thrilling action and interesting aerial scenes in this local film. This movie will start showing in cinemas on Nov 23 and all Malaysians are encouraged to watch this movie," he said.

Dr Wee then thanked Multimedia Entertainment Group managing director, Datuk Steven Lim for inviting him and his wife for the screening, which they attended after the Parliament session on Tuesday.

Also present at the gala night as special guests were MCA Youth chief Ling Tian Soon, MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon and MCA vice-president Datuk Lawrence Low.

Other guests included former inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who is also the chairman of Multimedia Entertainment Group and company advisor, Labis division chairman Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Egyptian Ambassador to Malaysia Ragai Nasr, Russian Embassy in Malaysia's counsellor Aleksei Dobrinskii, Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali and senior police officers, among others.
