KUALA LUMPUR: A day after he accused two individuals of conspiring to get his party’s lawmakers to switch loyalties, Bersatu leader Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (pic) is now pointing the finger at his own party colleague.
The Machang MP claimed that Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abd Rahman had been roped into a plot to get more lawmakers to support the unity government.
“That’s why we have suspended him for six years,” he added.
Suhaili was suspended last week after he pledged to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in return for receiving constituency development funds.
On Nov 14, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal revealed what he claimed to be video evidence of the plot saying that it was headed by an individual called “Datuk Botak” and an ex-aide to a senior politician.
In yesterday’s remarks, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said the operation targets new MPs or those who have a low profile.
The Machang MP then presented a still photo of a video showing the individual called Datuk Botak talking to Langkawi MP Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah and Lumut MP Nordin Ahmad Ismail.
When asked if there is an audio recording between the Bersatu MPs and the mysterious Datuk Botak, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said they are collecting more proof of the “operation.”
He added that the party is also finalising details of its report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
