KUALA LUMPUR: A career in the police force requires each personnel and officer to sacrifice their time and energy for the safety and security of the country, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
In his address to recently graduated police trainees, the Inspector-General of Police reminded them to carry out their duties with utmost professionalism, dedication and honesty.
"I have set two main focus points that must be adhered to by all in the police force.
“Firstly, those in the police force must base their service on integrity and good governance.
“Secondly, they must support the government’s policies towards the prosperity of the people,” he said in his speech during the graduation ceremony of 538 police trainees at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) on Friday (Nov 17).
Razarudin said both focus points must be carried out at every level with integrity and honesty, which is the most important indicator to shape the character of a successful police officer.
"I am reminding all trainees that will start their careers in the field to always distance themselves from any form of wrongdoing and corruption.
"They must also adhere to laws and police force's directives.
"When you are sincere, it will bring blessings in your job that will also lead to blessings in your life," he said.
The country's top cop also saluted the Pulapol commander and the lineup of trainers that managed to transform the trainees from civilians to police officers since the training started on Feb 19.
"I have no doubt this batch of trainees have benefited from the wisdom and guidance of all the trainers," he added.
