Man allegedly kills brother with sickle in Kluang


KLUANG: Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his brother in a fit of rage here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said that the suspect, a 44-year-old man, was arrested at about 2.30pm on Friday (Nov 17).

"The suspect was arguing with his brother and this escalated into a fight.

"In a fit of rage, he slashed his brother with a sickle, killing him," he said in a statement here on Saturday (Nov 18).

He added that the suspect was not under the influence of drugs.

"The suspect tested negative for drugs and does not have a criminal record," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He added that the suspect had been remanded for six days.
