Former cop and actor Shaharon Anuar involved in Batu Gajah accident

IPOH: Former policeman Senior Asst Comm (R) Datuk Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif, who is known for starring in local TV series Gerak Khas, has been involved in a three-car accident at Batu 6, Jalan Tanjung Tualang near Batu Gajah.

The 61-year-old, who was Kuala Lumpur police's management department head before retiring, and his wife Datin Norasmariah Basri, 46, both suffered chest pain after the accident at 3.15pm on Saturday (Nov 18).

Batu Gajah OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said Shaharon Anuar and Norasmariah were not seriously injured and received treatment at the Perak Community Specialist Hospital here.

ACP Mohamad Roy said in the incident, a car with a family of four had slowed down to make a right turn.

He said a second car following behind was unable to stop in time and slammed into the first car.

"This caused the first vehicle to veer into the path of Shaharon Anuar's car coming from the opposite direction, causing another collision," he said in a statement on Sunday (Nov 19).

He said the 38-year-old man driving the first car suffered chest pain, his 34-year-old wife injured her hip, while their two children aged one and eight suffered head injuries.

The 29-year-old driver of the second car also suffered chest pain.

"All were referred to the Batu Gajah Hospital for treatment.

"The case will be investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act," he said.

In a video of the incident posted on social media, Shaharon Anuar and Norasmariah are seen getting out of their car immediately after the accident to help victims in the other car.

Norasmariah is seen carrying a child out of the other car as Shaharon Anuar helps the other victims.
