Newborn found abandoned on Subang roadside


SUBANG JAYA: A baby boy has been found by the side of the road on Jalan PJS 9/1 Bandar Sunway here.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said they received a call at 1.25pm on Saturday (Nov 18).

"We received a call that a baby was found with his umbilical cord still attached.

"The baby was wrapped in a plastic bag and still alive," he said in a statement on Sunday (Nov 19).

He said police personnel were sent to the scene to investigate.

"The person who found the baby took him to a clinic with the police.

"The baby was then taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital," he said.

He said the baby was in stable condition now at the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.

"The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for intentionally abandoning a child.
