Petroleum wholesaler charged with selling diesel illegally


IPOH: A petroleum wholesale company has been charged at the Sessions Court with selling diesel to another company that did not have valid licence or written approval from the supply controller.

Fullyee Petroleum PLT company director and partner Yip Kian Yew, 54 pleaded not guilty to the charge under Rule 9(2) of the Control of Supplies Regulations, which is also an offence under Rule 21(1) of the same Regulations, before Judge Azizah Ahmad.

He did so as a representative of his company, which is charged with selling 10,920 litres of scheduled, controlled diesel to K2 Bitumen Sdn Bhd at the Tungzen Industrial Park in Batu Gajah on Nov 8 between 8am and 5pm on Nov 8 last year.

Those found guilty can be punished under Section 22(1) of the Control of Supplies Act with a fine of not more than RM2mil.

For second-time or repeat offenders, they can be fined a maximum of RM5mil under Section 22(2) of the same Act.

Azizah set Jan 10 for case management and submission of documents.

Deputy public prosecutor Suhana Mohamad prosecuted while the company was represented by lawyer Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.
