Negri to open five new industrial areas in 2024

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan government will open at least five new industrial areas next year, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

The Mentri Besar said demand for industrial lots in the state had been extremely encouraging, leading to the current areas running out of space.

"The existing industrial areas are nearing full capacity as demand has been very encouraging.

"Taking stock of this, we plan to open several new areas next year," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri on Wednesday (Nov 22).

He said the new areas will, among others, be located in Nilai, Bandar Ainsdale, Sime Darby (Parcel B) and Senawang.

Aminuddin said he would give more details on the industries intending to set up operations in the state and the new industrial areas when tabling the state Budget on Dec 1.

He said the total new investments received this year would also be revealed next week.

"All I can say now is that as of today, we have matched the total amount received last year," he said.

The state government received almost RM9bil in investments last year, the highest in Negri Sembilan history.
