Govt must address issues faced by youth, says Bersatu women's youth wing chief

SHAH ALAM: There is a need to ensure the political, economic and social issues faced by young people are addressed by the government, which is far from their sight, says Nurul Fadzilah Kamaluddin (pic).

The Srikandi Muda Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chief said the current Unity Government must focus on core issues faced by young people including the unemployment rate, rising cost of living, education and problem with school drop outs.

"Many young people are struggling," she said at the party’s Srikandi Muda Convention 2.0 themed as Young Women National Icon, here on Thursday (Nov 23).

The convention was launched by Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee, who said that more young people were needed in the political arena.

He added young people were an important element as they were voters that had the ability to form a new government.

"No political party can ignore the importance of young people. They are needed to change the political landscape of the country," he said.

Also present at the convention were Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin and Srikandi deputy chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
