Kluang cops nab four suspected robbers


KLUANG: Police have arrested four men over a robbery in Taman Putrimas, Simpang Renggam, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred at 8.30am on Thursday (Nov 23).

"A follow-up was conducted by police from the Kluang and the criminal investigation department (CID) from Iskandar Puteri and Simpang Renggam.

"The team conducted a raid in Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai, at 8pm the same day and four suspects were arrested," he said in a statement here on Friday (Nov 24).

Background checks on the suspects, aged from 22 to 49, revealed that all have prior criminal records, with two of them testing positive for methamphetamine.

"We have also confiscated two vehicles, one identification card, two car keys, and four mobile phones," he said, adding that all of the suspects are under remand for six days starting Nov 24.

The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
