18 guests rescued after getting trapped in elevator of Melaka hotel


MELAKA: Eighteen guests were rescued after they were trapped in an elevator at a hotel here.

Melaka Tengah Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Omar Husein@Mohsin said the victims, including two women, were trapped inside the elevator at the 21st floor of the hotel for almost 20 minutes on Saturday (Nov 25).

He said a distress call was made to the department at 10.12am and the rescue mission was completed by 11.05am.

Mohsin said one of the female victims had also fainted after facing breathing difficulties and was rushed to Melaka Hospital.
