A 36-YEAR-OLD Indian mother of two finally received her birth certificate and MyKad after years of trying, Makkal Osai reported.
Thanaletchumi Loganathan, 36, from Tapah, Perak, did not have her documents.
After she got married and had kids, her two children now aged 15 and 10 also faced many hurdles in getting their birth certificates and MyKad as well.
Assistant registrar M. Nadarajah, who helped the family at the National Registration Department in Ipoh, said that Thanaletchumi followed the proper application procedures, and similar processes will be initiated for her children.
Separately, sisters K. Saratha and K. Parvathi in Tanjung Karang, Selangor, said their father neglected to obtain their documents at birth, resulting in difficulties for nine family members.
The sisters finally got their birth certificates with the help of district MIC chairman P. Selliah.
