JOHOR BARU: Police have denied a viral video alleging that they provided the security escort to a controversial businesswoman leaving her factory in Skudai.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said a video on TikTok made the claim that police gave clearance to allow a patrol car to escort the woman out of the premises.
"Checks found that on Saturday (Nov 25) at around 12.30pm, a group of individuals had gathered, causing a ruckus in front of the factory.
"Police then arrived at the scene to control the situation and made sure it did not get out of hand," he said in a statement here on Sunday (Nov 26).
Comm Kamarul Zaman urged the public or any individual who witnessed the incident to come forward and lodge a report where action would be taken according to the law without compromise.
He also advised individuals not to believe and spread unverified information easily as it would lead to confusion among the people and threaten public safety.
The woman, who runs a clothing business, recently courted controversy after making racial remarks against the Malays on social media.
This led to various police reports lodged against her.
