Sleepless nights for family after big waves hit

A FAMILY of six in Terengganu has been losing sleep ever since their beachfront house was damaged by big waves last week due to the ongoing monsoon season.

“Sayang, our bathroom has been destroyed,” Zainab Zakaria, 46, said to her husband Wan Sopian Nazri Wan Ramli, 47, at 5.20am on Nov 23, Kosmo! reported. Zainab said she and Wan Sopian were baking kuih early in the morning when they were startled by a loud crash coming from the back of their house in Kampung Pengkalan Atap, Kuala Besut.

Her family has been unable to sleep peacefully as they constantly fear that the next big wave could take away the entire house.> Singer-composer Amylea Azizan (pic) has tied the knot with Singaporean fire department officer Mohammad Aqbar Mohamad, 40, despite only knowing each other for a few months.

Without revealing their wedding date, Amylea, 37, said the occasion took place at her family’s house, according to Sinar Harian.

In the private and simple ceremony, Amylea said she received a copy of the Quran, a set of prayer gowns and RM8,888 in cash as part of her dowry. The number is meant as a symbol of the infinity of their love.

The bride and groom wore clothes designed by popular fashion designer Ridzuan Alias of Teruntum Putih.

Despite tying the knot, they will have to temporarily endure a long-distance marriage due to his duties in Singapore.
